RC is usually used in combination with toys, helicopters or drones, i.e. rc toys, rc helicopters and rc drones.
RC is the abbreviation of remote control or radio control, and any object that is “RC” or remote controlled, means it is controlled from a distance via a controller unit, that will control the up and down functions, the speed etc. In the case of “RC Cars”, the controller will control the forward, backward, turn left, turn right, go, stop and speed. In the case of a “RC Drone”, the controller will control everything: start, stop, fly, higher, lower, forward, backward, left, right, return, and any other function available to control this drone.
Almost everything. Including washing the windows of high-rise buildings. Pulling people off sinking boats. Fishing. Spying. Racing…you name it.
Many drones are simple, cheap drones that are used primarily as…toys. Remote control toys. Millions of drones are used for this precise use.
Millions of other drones are being used for aerial photography. As drones can fly, they can shoot photos and videos from vantage points that previously were not available, like in the sky above a city, a lake, on the side of a mountain, the locations are unlimited, and the possibilities are unlimited, when you can fly anywhere you want and you can shoot photos from never before available vantage points.
The 2 main uses of drones, therefore, are toys, and…aerial photography.
In addition, drones are used for search and rescue, mapping, precision agriculture, police and security work and many civil applications.
Consumer drones for the masses are now becoming very popular in 2 main categories:
Selfie drones and racing drones. Selfie drones are drones with one main function; taking a selfie. You pull your drone out of your pocket, throw it in the air, and it will take a few nice selfies, and come back to you!
Racing drones are similar to racing car, in that they offer the same kind of exhilaration and excitement: racing drones are small, and very fast. They are equipped with video cameras, so the pilot can see what they are “seeing” and navigate accordingly.
Some other uses for drones include:
Flying time in RC Drones defines the time the drone can fly on a single battery charge.
The flying distance refers to the distance the drone can be away from the controller, and still receive the command signals coming from the controller.
A simple beginner’s model can cost less than $100, with camera drones starting at a few hundred dollars. More complex drones, starting at less than $1,000, offer customization and programmable features, turning them into truly autonomous devices that can make their own decisions.
The answer depends on what kind of drone do you want, and how many drones do you want to buy.
Drones can be very expensive, so as a rule of thumb, you will get the best deal if you buy factory direct. In this case, you are looking for a drone wholesale suppliers, and there are many of them listed right here in our drone’s marketplace.
You can also buy drones from a real physical drone store, where you will get a few good tips about how to prepare the drone and how to fly it.
If you do not need any help or advice about assembling and flying the drone, your best bet is probably to buy from one of the famous drone retailers like Amazon, Banggood or Gearbest.
RTF stands for Ready-To-Fly. Usually a RTF quadcopter doesn’t require any assembly or setup, but you may have to do some simple things like charge up the battery, install the propellers or bind the controller to the quadcopter (get them talking to each other). BNF stands for Bind-And-Fly.
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone and also referred by several other names is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. The flight of UAVs may be controlled either autonomously by onboard computers or by the remote control of a pilot on the ground or in another vehicle.
Buying drones directly from the factory in China has never been faster, easier or cheaper.
Keep in mind that you are not the only one that wants to save money; the whole world wants to buy from these Chinese drone suppliers. So, introduce yourself properly, and let the supplier know how many drones exactly you want to buy, which kind of drones you are looking for, where do you want them shipped to and if you have any special requirements related to packaging, the voltage of the charges, markings and so on.
Drone aerial photography allows you to capture that same kind of landmark footage, minus the Hollywood effects. Instead of relying on a film crew, you only need is a remote-controlled drone, otherwise called an unmanned aerial vehicle by hobbyists, and camera equipment.
Drone racing is a sport where drone pilots strive to build extremely fast and agile multi-rotors (otherwise known as drones) to fly around a set course as fast as possible. Almost all drone races today are done using FPV (First Person View) systems.
An unmanned aerial vehicle, commonly known as a drone, is an unmanned aircraft system, or by several other names, is an aircraft without a human pilot aboard. The flight of UAVs may operate with various degrees of autonomy: either under remote control by a human operator, or fully or intermittently autonomously, by onboard computers.
A quadcopter, also called a quadrotor helicopter or quadrotor, is a multirotor rc helicopter that is lifted and propelled by four rotors. Quadcopters are classified as rotorcraft, as opposed to fixed-wing aircraft, because their lift is generated by a set of rotors (vertically oriented propellers).
Quadcopters generally use two pairs of identical fixed pitched propellers; two clockwise and two counter-clockwise. These use independent variation of the speed of each rotor to achieve control. By changing the speed of each rotor it is possible to specifically generate a desired total thrust; to locate for the center of thrust both laterally and longitudinally; and to create a desired total torque, or turning force.
While there is no “best place” to fly your drone, you should always look for an area that is open and where there are as few people around as possible.
You should definitely avoid flying in populated areas, residential areas (for privacy reasons), commercial areas, schools, events, and especially airports. Flying drones in national parks is also illegal.
The FAA also requires that you keep your drone under 400 feet.
Basically, don’t fly your drone anywhere where if you crash it, it can endanger someone else. It’s always a good idea to use common sense when searching for a place to fly.
A camera drone is a RC helicopter with a camera attached.
Essentially, there is no difference. All of the above are the same thing. Lets start with the most simple one, the RC helicopter. Well, everyone knows what a remote control helicopter is…it is a toy.
Once you attach a camera to this toy, it is called a…drone. If this drone has 4 rotors, it is also called a quadrotor, or a quadcopter. Multirotors and multicopters are any kind of drone that has more than one rotor, and that…is all of them! UAV, or unmanned aerial vehicle, also describes…all of the drones. So really….they are all the same thing.
It really depends on what kind of drone you have. A lot of the higher-end drones (like the DJI Phantom series, the DJI Inspire, the DJI Mavic Pro, the 3DR Solo, etc.) have automatic landing and takeoff features. With automatic landing, you just need to get your drone to hover over a clear area, hit the automatic landing feature, and the drone will land itself. The takeoff feature works the same way (just put it on level ground and hit the button).
For cheaper drones that don’t have the auto takeoff and landing features, you will need to use more care as a lot of crashes tend to happen during these two phases of flying.
